Gathered Grounds was founded by Kai Halpaus as a way to bring people together through thoughtfully designed dining experiences.
What began as intimate, travel-inspired dinners has grown into a hospitality concept that blends food, culture, and connection — from ticketed supper club gatherings to custom corporate and private events across Atlanta.
Each experience is intentionally curated from start to finish. The menu, pacing, atmosphere, and flow are all designed with one goal: to create space for people to slow down, share a table, and connect meaningfully.
Meet Kai
Gathered Grounds was founded and is led by Kai Halpaus, who oversees the creative direction, menus, and overall experience design for every event.
Raised between cultures — half American, half German, with close ties to his Thai family — Kai grew up experiencing food as a bridge between traditions, languages, and generations. That perspective naturally shaped how he approaches hospitality today.
Having traveled to more than 30 countries and lived in seven, he draws inspiration from the way different cultures gather, celebrate, and share meals — from long family tables to bustling street markets to intimate dinner parties.
Those influences show up in every Gathered Grounds experience: thoughtful menus, intentional pacing, and spaces designed for conversation and connection.
From concept to execution, Kai personally leads each event to ensure every detail feels warm, seamless, and memorable.
